<p>The <a href="https://www.novatronicsistemas.com/en/product/vpx-vme/"><strong>VPX chassis</strong></a> is the structure that houses all the system components. It is designed to withstand the rigorous demands of the <strong>military and aeronautical sector</strong>, guaranteeing the protection of internal components in the most adverse conditions.</p>

<p>The Ruggedized Enhanced Design Implementation (REDI) laid out in <strong>VITA 48</strong> describes how to implement layout techniques to better support <strong>cooling methodologies</strong> on specific board form factors.</p>



<p>Currently, it covers enhanced forced-air cooling (using baffles and plenums), advanced conduction cooling (using larger and more efficient thermal interfaces), and liquid cooling. It also addresses the use of <strong>ESD covers</strong> on both sides of the board, a necessary feature for military two-level maintenance strategies.</p>

<p>The US Department of Defense and other users are mandating improved implementation of open standards and interoperability. VPX specifications have been focused at the board level, but there is also a need for considering system-level requirements to improve interoperability and reduce customization, testing, cost, and risk.</p>



<p>The <strong>OpenVPX Systems</strong> Specification defines an architecture framework that manages and constrains module and backplane designs, including defining pin outs, and sets <strong>interoperability</strong> points within VPX while maintaining full compliance with VPX.</p>

<p>The third edition of <a title="" href="https://www.feindef.com/index.php/en/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Feinfef</a> will take place on May 17th, 18th and 19th in <a title="" href="https://www.ifema.es/en" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ifema</a></p>

<p>The international Defence and Security Exhibition FEINDEF, organized by the FEINDEF Foundation, is the only exhibition in Spain from this sector with the institutional support of the Ministry of Defence, and it is positioned as the most important event held in Spain in this sector, that opens to the world by offering network opportunities: 40.000 m2 of exhibition space, with an attendance of over 450 exhibitors from 20 countries and 100 foreign delegations.</p>

<p><span dir="ltr" role="presentation"><strong>TSN Configuration</strong> is </span><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">one of the most active topics in the </span><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">standardization groups (IEEE), </span>Testbeds (IIC TSN Testbed) and TSN profiles (Aerospace, Automotive and Industrial Automation).</p>

<p><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">TSN communications are based on data </span><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">streams set between a Talker and one or </span><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">more Listeners. Based on the agreed </span><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">parameters for each stream, it is necessary </span><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">to configure all the elements of the TSN </span><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">network to switch the frames based on the </span><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">selected parameters. This operation is </span><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">performed by a Centralized Network </span><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Configuration (CNC) node.</span></p>

<p><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Relyum has been working in a partnership </span><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">with a company with more than 14 years of </span><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">experience on Modeling, Simulation, and </span><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">automated Configuration of Real-Time </span><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Communication Architecture.</span></p>

<p><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">As a result, Relyum’s partner has developed the</span><a href="https://www.relyum.com/web/rely-tsn-configurator-2/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span dir="ltr" role="presentation"> <strong>TSN configuration tool</strong></span></a><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">, that allows to <strong>configure TSN </strong></span><span dir="ltr" role="presentation"><strong>devices</strong>, when network topology and </span><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">communication needs are determined, and </span><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">guarantees that constraints are met.</span></p>

<p>The scope of this tool is not only Relyum’s ones but also any other Ethernet (TSN and non-TSN) device connected to the network.</p>

<p>The main functionalities of this tool are:</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Define network topology</h2>

<p>When defining the network topology, the tool allows to define hardware capabilities and traffic requirements. This can be done through the GUI or by importing an existing description by YANG or CSV.</p>

<p>To simplify this process, Relyum TSN devices’ models are already preloaded in the tool.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Select the TSN mechanisms</h2>

<p>Through the GUI, the tool allows the selection of TSN mechanisms supported by the hardware. The TSN mechanisms available in the tool are:</p>

<p>TSN Configurator allows to generate the proper configuration to meet the requirements of the use case.</p>

<p>Additionally, the configuration files generated by the tool can be automatically be imported from Relyum devices, which simplifies significantly all the configuration process.</p>

<p>When it comes to security, the device supports IEEE 802.1X. This standard is an IEEE Standard for port-based Network Access Control. It is used for access control, DoS attack prevention, and port mirroring for diagnosis.</p>



<p>It can be centrally configured from RELYUM’s TSN Configurator, a new TSN configuration tool to be released together with the new HW platform, or from any other third-party configuration system that is compliant with IEEE 802.1Qcc standard and implements YANG modeled configuration files over Netconf communication.</p>
